Ghanaian striker Yakubu Nassam Ibrahim made a significant impact on the scoresheet, netting twice for Hong Kong Rangers.
However, his efforts were in vain as his team suffered a 4-2 defeat in the Hong Kong Premier League.
Nassam played the full duration of the match as his team faced Lee Man Warriors on Sunday afternoon.
In an energetic display, Lee Man Warriors swiftly scored two goals within a span of three minutes. Brazilian international Gil opened the scoring in the 9th minute, followed by Estonia’s Henri Anier doubling the host’s lead just two minutes later. However, the Ghanaian international managed to pull one goal back for the visitors before halftime.
Japanese international Ryoya Tachibana extended Lee Man Warriors’ lead with a goal in the 53rd minute, while Wai Wong sealed the victory for the home team. Nonetheless, Nassam once again reduced the deficit for Hong Kong Rangers in the additional minute, concluding the game with a 4-2 scoreline in favor of the home side.
The 26-year-old striker has been in excellent form, tallying three goals and providing one assist in three games for Hong Kong Rangers this season.
