Ghanaian youngster, Brian Brobbey has been invited by the U20 team coach of the Netherlands Erwin Van de Looi, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.

The Black Stars target will be involved in the Jong Oranje team in their Euro 2023 Cup U20 qualifiers after he was call-up by the head coach.

Brobbey has been a long term target for Ghana but looks destined to play for the Dutch national team especially after returning to AFC Ajax Amsterdam.

Jong Oranje coach Erwin van de Looi has included thirty players in the preliminary selection of the Jong Oranje. The most notable names are those of newcomers Jan Paul van Hecke (Blackburn Rovers FC), Elayis Tavsan (NEC) and Thomas Buitink (Vitesse). Furthermore, Sven Botman (Lille OSC) and Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax) are back in the preliminary selection of the Dutch Juniors.

The Dutch Juniors will play the first game of 2022 on Friday March 25 in Sofia against Young Bulgaria.

The squatter between the Netherlands and Switzerland, the numbers 2 and 1 in the European Championship qualifying group, is on the program on Tuesday 29 March. This important home match for qualification for the European Championship 2023 in Romania and Georgia will be played in De Adelaarshorst in Deventer and starts at 6.45 pm.

The final roster of 23 players will be announced on Friday, March 18.

Georgia and Romania will jointly host the European Championship 2023 in June and July of that year. Sixteen countries will participate in the final tournament, with Georgia and Romania automatically qualifying as host countries.

The European Championship qualification has 53 countries that are divided into eight groups of six and one group of five. The group winners and the best number two, measured over all nine groups, qualify directly for the European Championship 2023. The other best numbers two also have a chance to win the remaining four European Championship tickets via a play-off. This diptych will be played in September 2022.
