Ghanaian-born Togolese defender Kennedy Boateng expresses his eagerness to play for his new club, SC Austria Lustenau. Boateng is determined to assist the club in moving out of the relegation zone.

Standing at an imposing height of 1.91 meters, Kennedy Boateng brings a wealth of experience from his stints with Austrian powerhouses LASK and SV Ried, where he demonstrated his skills in 24 Bundesliga matches and an impressive 90 second-division encounters.

“I am very happy to be here in Lustenau. Austria is my second home, I have played here for many years. The team is currently in a difficult situation, so I want to help the team as quickly as possible,” Boateng said.

“We want to get out of there and stay in the Bundesliga. I can’t wait to get started here,” he added.

Kennedy Boateng joined CD Santa Clara in Portugal’s top division in the summer of 2021. He appeared in 52 league games for the Portuguese club, scoring three goals and establishing himself as a regular starter.

Kennedy Boateng also participated twice in qualification for the Europa Conference League, winning both times. Kennedy Boateng is a Togo international who made his debut in March 2023 against Sierra Leone.

His deal with CD Santa Clara ended at the close of the 2022/23 season. Boateng has agreed to terms with Austria until the summer of 2024.
