Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku was on target in Fenerbahce’s impressive 4-2 triumph over Adana Demirspor in the Super Lig clash on Wednesday evening, making a significant contribution to his team’s success.

The exhilarating match unfolded at the Ülker Stadyumu Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Spor Kompleksi, where Fenerbahce continued their dominance over Adana Demirspor, boasting a commanding head-to-head record of 5 wins compared to Adana Demirspor’s solitary victory, with 2 draws sprinkled in between.

Taking the field from the outset, Djiku etched his name on the scoresheet in the 17th minute, unleashing a thunderous right-footed strike from close quarters following a corner. His precision shot found its mark in the top right corner, igniting Fenerbahce’s campaign on a high note.

However, the resilient Adana Demirspor countered in the 25th minute, courtesy of Mario Balotelli’s right-footed effort from the left flank, restoring parity in the contest.

The pendulum swung back in Fenerbahce’s favor after the break, as Edin Dzeko found the back of the net in the 51st minute, swiftly followed by an exquisite long-range strike from Dusan Tadic in the 70th minute, leaving spectators in awe.

Despite Adana Demirspor’s Yusuf Barasi narrowing the deficit in the 80th minute, Fenerbahce clinched victory in the 85th minute when Serdar Dursun capitalized on a Sebastian Szymanski delivery, heading home with precision.

Djiku’s impactful display against Adana Demirspor adds to his commendable season statistics, having featured in 20 matches, netted two goals, and provided an assist in the Turkish Super Lig campaign.
