Growing up, Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu admired the fighting spirit of Spanish defender Sergio Ramos, considering him his role model.
The 23-year-old was inspired by Ramos’s style of play and took him as an example.
While Alidu himself has faced criticism for his robust football style and is currently serving a suspension after a red card, he expressed the fulfillment of a dream when he had the opportunity to play against the former Real Madrid captain in Ligue 1.
“When I had the chance to play against him in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, it was a dream come true!”
“When I was little, I really liked Sergio Ramos. He’s a player who goes into duels, fights, and is always there,” he told Ligue 1 in an interview.
Alidu praised Ramos for his unwavering commitment on the field, acknowledging the highs and lows in his career.
“In good times, he’s there, in difficult times, he’s there. He always gives his all. It’s true, he gets a lot of red cards, but he’s a player who never gives up.
