Ghanaian defender David Acquah found the net for FC Aarau in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Wil in the Swiss Challenge League, scoring late in a match filled with chances and late twists.
After an intense contest in which Aarau dominated and created numerous opportunities, the home side finally took the lead in the 87th minute. A high delivery into the box was cleverly directed into the danger area, allowing Acquah to react quickly and fire home from close range to make it 2-1.
However, Aarau were unable to hold on to the advantage. Despite pushing hard and missing a chance to seal the game in stoppage time, they conceded a late equaliser in the 95th minute when Wil struck at the far post to snatch a point.
Acquah’s goal was a key highlight in an entertaining encounter that saw Aarau register a remarkable number of attempts on goal, but they ultimately had to settle for their first draw of the Challenge League campaign.
