Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah has been nominated for the Best Player award in the Nedbank Cup tournament.
The Sekhukhune defender will be competing against Orlando Pirates’ Miguel Tim and Stellenbosch’s Iqraam Rayners for the prestigious accolade.
Gyimah played a pivotal role in Sekhukhune’s journey to the final of the competition, where they will face off against Orlando Pirates.
The former Black Stars center-back gained attention for his exuberant celebrations after his team eliminated Kaizer Chiefs from the tournament.
Currently, Sekhukhune United occupies the seventh position on the South African League table after 29 games, accumulating 37 points.
Gyimah has spent a significant portion of his career in South Africa, representing various clubs such as SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.
