Ghanaian center-back Emmanuel Ntim showcased his goal-scoring prowess by scoring a crucial brace for Caen, leading his team to a convincing 4-1 triumph over RC Calais in the Coupe de France Round 8 clash on Friday.
RC Calais initially took the lead with Redwan Aboukassem finding the net after 10 minutes, giving them an early advantage. However, Emmanuel Ntim proved instrumental in turning the tide for Caen.
Ntim first scored the equalizer for Caen with 20 minutes remaining in the game, leveling the score. His decisive impact continued as he netted the winning goal just 13 minutes later, giving Caen the lead.
Debohi Diedouanne extended Caen’s lead, securing a comfortable 3-1 advantage only two minutes after Ntim’s second goal. The victory was sealed in the 90th minute with Alexandre Mendy contributing a late goal.
Emmanuel Ntim’s brace marked his first goals of the season, adding an offensive dimension to his defensive prowess. The former WAFA player has been a consistent presence in Caen’s lineup, featuring in 12 French Ligue 2 games this season, starting in each one.
Despite their strong campaign, Caen narrowly missed out on promotion to the French Ligue 1, finishing fifth in the second tier. The Coupe de France victory reflects Ntim’s valuable contributions on both ends of the pitch for his team.
