English-born Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku, again put up a spectacular performance as his team Vejle Boldklub posted a 1-0 victory against SønderjyskE on Friday night in the Danish Superliga playoff.
The 23-year old versatile defender was handed another starting berth in the playoff by manager Ivan Prelec in the crucial away fixture played at the Sydbank Park which had 3,875 spectators.
Spanish defender Raúl Albentosa scored a late 90+6 goal to seal an important away victory to give Vejle Boldklub in their first victory in the play-off having drew their first game against FC Nordjaelland.
Meanwhile, compatriot Ebenezer Ofori, replaced Edgar Babayan in the 75th minute mark of the game with Opoku playing the full 90 minute of the game.
Vejle will next play Midtjlland on Thursday28th April, 2022 in the play-off before they host SønderjyskE on Sunday May 1, 2022 in their last game.
Jerome Opoku who is currently on loan at Vejle from newly promoted English Premier League side Fulham, would be hoping to help his side survive relegation in the Danish Superliga.
