Ghanaian defender Nathaniel Adjei has garnered recognition in the French Ligue 1 Team of the Week following his stellar display for FC Lorient against FC Metz on Sunday.
In Matchday 20 of the ongoing French top-flight season, Lorient secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Metz at the Stade Municipal Saint-Symphorien, ending their prolonged losing streak in all competitions, dating back to October.
The arrival of Nathaniel Adjei at the Brittany-based club has coincided with a notable improvement in the team’s performance. Adjei, who made his debut in the thrilling 3-3 draw with Le Havre the previous week, earned a spot in Coach Regis Le Bris’s starting lineup for the clash against FC Metz, edging out French international Julien Laporte.
The 21-year-old defender justified his selection with an impressive performance, contributing significantly to Lorient’s triumph and earning the highest overall rating of 7.74%.

Adjei’s inclusion in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week highlights his growing influence in the Lorient squad, and it is anticipated that he will retain his starting role when Lorient faces Stade Reims at the Stade du Moustoir in their next fixture.
