Ghanaian right-back Thomas Boakye has signed a new one-year deal with Swedish Allsvenskan side Halmstads BK.

The contract of the 29-year-old was expected to expire this month but he has now extended it to January 2024.

Boakye joined Halmstds from Varbegs BoIS in 2018 and has gone on to make 138 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing 15 assists.

He previously played for Right to Dream Academy and Ostersunds FK.
