Ghana women’s football internationals Abdulai Mukarama and Philomena Abakah have officially joined Turkish Super Lig side Ünye Kadın FK ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The attacking duo have secured a new challenge in Turkey as they continue their professional careers abroad, bringing valuable experience from Ghana, Africa and overseas competitions.
Abdulai Mukarama has established herself as one of Ghana’s promising attacking talents after progressing through the country’s youth national teams. The Tamale-born forward began her career with Northern Ladies FC before gaining international recognition with the Black Maidens and Black Princesses.
She later earned a move to Spanish side Deportivo Alavés before returning to Ghana to feature for Hasaacas Ladies, where she continued to impress with her attacking qualities. Mukarama has also represented the Black Queens at senior level.
During her spell with Hasaacas Ladies, Mukarama recorded 3 goals and 4 assists in 9 appearances based on available club statistics, underlining her impact in the final third.
Philomena Abakah also arrives at Ünye Kadın FK with significant experience from different football environments. The Ghanaian forward started her career with Berry Ladies before moving to Tanzanian giants Simba Queens and later featuring for Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
Abakah has also had international club experiences with teams including Crvena zvezda in Serbia and Indian side Kickstart/Sreebhumi, further expanding her football journey outside Ghana.
The forward has earned recognition with the Black Queens, making her senior national team debut in 2022, and remains one of Ghana’s notable attacking prospects.
