“Now we are all challenged to find our way out of this difficult situation,” says Abubakar, knowing that there is additional pressure on his shoulders. He is considered a beacon of hope for this second half of the season, as a goal promise, as a breakaway.”

But the fast, agile man from Ghana, who also has a Portuguese passport, seems to be able to handle it well.

“It’s a challenge for me, of course. But I’m happy to accept it – I absolutely want to help, because I feel at home here in Central Switzerland”, he said.

Luzern are at the bottom of the league table after 19 matches with 11 points and must beat Lugano to boost their survival hopes alive.
