Ghanaian attacker Augustine Boakye maintained his strong run of form by scoring in AS Saint-Étienne’s important victory over Stade Lavallois in Ligue 2 on Saturday.

Saint-Étienne took an early lead through Zuriko Davitashvili’s third-minute penalty, but the visitors responded before the break when Mamadou Camara levelled matters. Boakye restored the advantage before halftime, finishing calmly after being set up by Lucas Stassin.

Ghana defender Ebenezer Annan later came off the bench as the hosts saw out the game to secure all three points.

The win keeps Saint-Étienne second in the standings as they chase automatic promotion. Boakye has now registered five goals and five assists in 21 league appearances, highlighting his growing influence in their campaign.
