Helsingborgs IF delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Gefle in the Swedish Superettan, marking their ninth consecutive win in this rivalry.
Gefle began the match with an early chance from Samouil Izountouemoi, but Helsingborg goalkeeper Kalle Joelsson made a crucial save to deny him. In the 7th minute, Helsingborg capitalized on a cleared free kick, with Adrian Svanbäck finding the net to open the scoring.
Despite a strong attempt by Gefle to equalize in the 27th minute, they missed a critical opportunity. Moments later, Benjamin Acquah doubled Helsingborg’s advantage with a brilliant long-distance lob over the out-of-position goalkeeper.
The second half saw Helsingborg quickly extend their lead. Svanbäck scored his second goal of the night with a powerful header, followed by an assist to Taylor Silverholt, who netted the fourth goal in quick succession.
Helsingborg controlled the match, and even though Gefle applied late pressure, Joelsson’s solid performance ensured a clean sheet. Acquah’s standout play and goal were vital in securing the three points.
Helsingborg will look to maintain their momentum in their next match against Utsiktens BK on October 5th.
