Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante scored for West Bromich Albion in the English Championship on Monday night.

He found the back of the net for the Baggies as they won 2-0 away from home in the Championship to move to fifth on the league table with 23 points from 14 games.

He played 37 minutes of the match for the Black and Whites outfit as he came on to replace Nathaniel Chalobah.

Albion earned a fantastic 2-0 win at Coventry City in the Sky Bet Championship on Monday evening.Goals either side of half-time from in-form duo Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante were the difference, handing the Baggies all three points.

Kyle Bartley had hit the post before Albion’s opener, and Alex Palmer also stopped a venomous shot by Tatsuhiro Sakamoto.

Coventry searched for an equaliser for the rest of the half but were denied by a stubborn Albion defence.

Their best two chances fell to Haji Wright, however he guided one close-range effort off-target and saw another well saved.

Wright will feel like he should have levelled straight after the break, too, when Alex Mowatt’s tackle accidentally played him in. The striker’s finish missed the target, though, and Albion were handed another let-off.

The hosts were then made to rue those missed opportunities in the 69th minute – super substitute Thomas-Asante, brilliantly played through on goal by Matt Phillips, sent an emphatic finish into the top corner to double the Baggies’ advantage.

The striker couldn’t double his tally on the night, though, after dispossessing the hosts deep inside their half before sending an effort flying over the bar, despite a pass to Diangana looking the better option on the cards after entering the box.

But it didn’t matter in the end, as Albion defended resiliently to secure a clean sheet, get back to winning ways on the road, and bring a big three points back to The Hawthorns.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian forward has four goals and one assist in 12 matches this season in the English second tier.
