Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere played a crucial role in Zhejiang Professional‘s thrilling 4-3 win against Qingdao Hainiu in the Chinese Super League, scoring a vital goal in the 28th minute.
The match was a rollercoaster of goals, with Owusu-Sekyere’s strike from outside the box to the top right corner, assisted by Yao Junsheng, proving to be the turning point in the game.
Martin Boakye, another Ghanaian striker playing for Qingdao Hainiu, scored a hat-trick in the 11th, 53rd, and 76th minutes, but it was not enough to prevent Zhejiang Professional from securing the win.
Additional goals from Sun Guowen (24th minute), Leonardo (62nd minute), and Jean Kouassi (72nd minute) sealed the deal for Zhejiang Professional.
Owusu-Sekyere, who started the game and played for 83 minutes, has been instrumental for Zhejiang Professional this season. He has played 22 games, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in the 2024 Chinese Super League.
The win takes Zhejiang Professional’s head-to-head record against Qingdao Hainiu to five wins, three losses, and four draws.
