Ghana’s attacker Emmanuel Boateng netted the winning goal for his team as they won narrowly at home in the Liga Portugal on Monday.
The Ghanaian international scored the first goal of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up late in the additional time period of the first 45 minutes of for Rio Ave FC.
His right-footed shoot from the center of the box went into the bottom right corner assisted by Andreas Samaris with a through ball following a fast break.
His goal was enough to give the home team a deserving lead into the break.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian international was substituted on the 70th minute mark of the game with 20 minutes to the end of the entertainment encounter.
Both teams failed to find the back of the net in the second 45 minutes of the game with Boateng’s goal handing the hosts with all three points.
Boateng, a former UD Levante star who bagged a hat-trick against Barcelona during his time in the Spanish La Liga has scored three goals in five games in Liga Portugal this season after rejoining the club from China.
