Ghanaian striker Jalal Abdullai made an unforgettable impact in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday, scoring a last-gasp winner to earn Molde FK a thrilling 2-1 triumph over FK Haugesund.
Abdullai’s decisive strike came deep into stoppage time and sealed Molde’s first victory of the 2025 league season. It was also the 20-year-old’s maiden league goal since his move from Swedish side IF Elfsborg.
The encounter at Aker Stadion was tightly contested, with both sides pushing for crucial points. Molde took the lead in the 43rd minute through midfielder Kristian Eriksen, who finished off a fluid attacking sequence.
Haugesund responded late in the match. In the 90th minute, Senegalese defender Madiodio Dia pounced to equalize, appearing to have salvaged a point for the visitors.
However, Jalal Abdullai had other ideas. As the final seconds ticked away, he reacted quickest to a loose ball in the area and calmly slotted it home, sending the Molde bench into jubilant celebration.
The goal was Abdullai’s third in just six outings across all competitions this season—an early sign of his rising influence in Norwegian football.
