Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil and his team KRC Genk has been kicked out of the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday evening.
The 25-year-old Ghana attacker played full throttle for his team as they were beaten on penalties against Switzerland Super League side Servette FC.
Genk scored first from the spot through Mike Tresor before the visitors equalized through Timothe Cognat six minutes after the half hour mark.
Toluwalase Arokodare restored the home team’s advantage six minutes into the second half of the match.
The visitors struck back when Chris Bedia netted the second equalizer after 63 minutes of the match to make it 2-2.
The Swiss team went ahead to beat the Belgium Jupiler Pro League team on penalties to eliminate Paintsil and his team from the UEFA Champions League.
