Reports suggest that Ghanaian and Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has emerged as a potential transfer target for Italian giants Juventus.
Despite joining Southampton in January, the 21-year-old has attracted attention with his impressive performances, including a memorable brace against Liverpool on the final day of the season.
Kamaldeen’s goals against Liverpool marked his first for Southampton and followed his first assist in a recent Premier League defeat against Newcastle United.
The winger, who has earned a call-up to the Ghana national team for upcoming internationals, was signed by Southampton for a club-record fee of £25 million from French club Stade Rennais.
According to Italian publication La Gazzetta, Juventus sees Kamaldeen as a viable target as they seek affordable options to replace departing players and inject youth and energy into their squad after missing out on the Champions League due to a points deduction.
Kamaldeen is mentioned alongside Sassuolo’s Armand Lauriente, another player who had a youth career at Stade Rennais.
Kamaldeen recently expressed uncertainty about his future following Southampton’s relegation to the Championship but stated that he is enjoying his time at the club.
Southampton is unlikely to accept a significant loss on the player as he aligns with their desired direction and has been monitored by potential suitors for an extended period.
With Southampton aiming to balance their books after their Premier League exit, significant departures are expected from the club during the summer transfer window.
