In the Bulgarian Cup final clash between Ludogorets and Botev Plovdiv, Swiss-born Ghanaian striker Kwadwo Duah showcased his prowess with a goal despite Ludogorets’ eventual 3-2 loss.
The showdown at the Vasil Levski stadium was a highly anticipated encounter, with Ludogorets aiming to maintain their dominance over Botev Plovdiv.
Right from the kickoff, Botev Plovdiv seized an early advantage when Antoine Conte found the net with a header in the 4th minute, courtesy of an assist from Ivelin Popov. However, Ludogorets swiftly responded as Kwadwo Duah leveled the scoreline in the 8th minute, beautifully set up by Caio.
The first half continued to be action-packed, witnessing goals from Jakub Piotrowski in the 10th minute and Martin Sekulic just before halftime, giving Botev Plovdiv a 2-1 lead at the break.
The intensity didn’t wane in the second half, with Emmanuel Umeh extending Botev Plovdiv’s lead to 3-1 in the 58th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Mohamed Brahimi.
Despite Ludogorets’ relentless efforts, Rwan Seco managed to pull one back in the 67th minute, assisted by Anton Nedyalkov. However, it wasn’t enough to salvage a victory.
Ghanaian winger Bernard Tekpetey’s absence due to suspension added to Ludogorets’ woes, culminating in a disappointing end to their cup campaign. Despite their efforts, Ludogorets fell short in their bid for cup glory against a determined Botev Plovdiv side.
