Ghanaian forward Prince Adu Kwabena has expressed his excitement about playing in the UEFA Europa League, describing it as a “dream come true.” The young striker, who grew up watching European club competitions, is thrilled to be part of the tournament and aims to make a lasting impact with Viktoria Plzeň.
The 21-year-old has hit the ground running in his debut season, delivering impressive performances as he works towards becoming a key player and a fan favorite at the Czech club. His dream became even more special when he netted his first Europa League goal against Eintracht Frankfurt in the opening round.
“This feeling was great because playing the Europa League is a dream come true. I grew up watching the Europa League and Champions League, so getting the opportunity to play at this level is great. My first goal was against Frankfurt, and I was very happy about it.”
Beyond his European ambitions, Prince Adu Kwabena remains committed to helping Viktoria Plzeň succeed in the Czech First League. Despite trailing Slavia Praha by 13 points after 24 matches, he remains optimistic about a title push.
“We still have the hope. We have a lot of matches to play, but at the moment, we take it game after game. We hope by the end of the season we end up as league winners.”
Kwabena has been in fine form this season, registering five league goals, three in the Europa League, and contributing 12 goal involvements across all competitions. His performances have been crucial for Viktoria Plzeň, who now face a tough challenge against SS Lazio in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 at the Doosan Arena tonight.
