Ghanaian striker Samuel Obeng Gyabaa has completed a move to La Liga 2 side Albacete Balompié during the ongoing winter transfer window. The forward has signed a contract for the remainder of the season with an option to extend, keeping him at the club until June 2027.

Obeng brings a wealth of experience to Albacete, having amassed over 170 appearances in Spain’s second division, combining technical ability with physical presence in attack.

The 27-year-old began part of his youth career at Getafe CF before moving through several senior teams in Catalan football. His breakthrough came in 2018 at CD Calahorra in Spain’s third tier, where he scored seven goals in 28 appearances, earning him a transfer to Real Oviedo in LaLiga Hypermotion the following summer.

Initially registered with Oviedo’s reserves, Obeng quickly cemented a place in the first team, making 116 appearances and scoring 15 goals over three and a half seasons. In January 2023, he joined SD Huesca, contributing 11 goals in 56 appearances during his season-and-a-half spell.

Obeng also had short stints abroad, playing for Casa Pia in Portugal and Wydad AC in Morocco during the 2024–25 campaign, before returning to Spain last summer with AD Ceuta.

The Ghanaian striker is already training under coach Alberto Gonzalez at the Ciudad Deportiva Andrés Iniesta, preparing to be available for Albacete’s Copa del Rey match tomorrow.
