Ghanaian forward Yakubu Nassam Ibrahim showcased his scoring prowess once again as he found the back of the net for Hong Kong Rangers in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Kitchee in the Sapling Cup.
The opening goal came in the 10th minute, courtesy of Kitchee’s Hong Kong international Chun-Him Yuen. Not to be outdone, Hong Kong international Hoi-Chun Leung swiftly leveled the score for the home side in the 13th minute, setting the stage for an intense encounter.
In the 26th minute, Ibrahim took center stage, confidently converting a penalty to give Hong Kong Rangers a 2-1 lead. The momentum, however, shifted as Kitchee mounted a comeback, with Hong Kong international Chin-Lung Cheng equalizing in the 48th minute.
Cheng continued his impact, adding a third goal for Kitchee in the 69th minute, propelling his team into the lead. As tensions rose, 17-year-old Hong Kong international Yeung Cheuk Kwan extended Kitchee’s advantage with a fourth goal in the 82nd minute.
Yet, Hong Kong Rangers displayed resilience in the face of adversity. In added time, Chiu Ching Yu Sergio and Yumemi Kanda netted crucial goals, salvaging a dramatic draw for their team.
Ibrahim’s contribution marked his 12th goal of the season across all competitions, solidifying his status as a key figure for Hong Kong Rangers. Beyond scoring, he has also been instrumental in providing an assist for his teammates, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
