Zuberu Sharani, the Ghanaian forward, proved to be the hero for Slovan Bratislava in their UEFA Champions League first-leg victory over HŠK Zrinjski Mostar on Tuesday night.
In a tightly contested match, Sharani scored the decisive goal as Slovan Bratislava secured a 1-0 win against HŠK Zrinjski Mostar at the Stadion pod Bijelim Brijegom.
The former Dreams attacker found the back of the net with a powerful header from a corner, granting his team a crucial advantage after the first leg.
This goal marked Sharani’s first for the club since joining them in February earlier that year, making it an even more significant moment for him.
Sharani was substituted in the 83rd minute, making way for Kevin Wimmer. Among his fellow Ghanaians, Malik Abubakari also had a cameo appearance in the second half, replacing Marko Tolic.
Looking ahead, Slovan Bratislava will now focus on finishing the job in the second leg when they host HŠK Zrinjski Mostar, aiming to progress further in the UEFA Champions League.
