Latvian outfit Riga Football Club, have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian promising midfielder Ahmed Awua Ankrah in the ongoing transfer window.
He joins the club from Slovenian club FC Koper on a three-year contract. Awua-Ankrah who previously captained Parma’s youth team, made a strong impression during his time in Slovenia, where he made 33 appearances, contributing two assists and scoring a goal.
‘‘We are pleased to announce that 22-year-old Ghana midfielder Ahmed Ankrah has joined our team! Welcome to Riga!” the club announced.
Ahmed Ankrah who was born Drobo in the Bono Region, plays in the defensive midfield position. He’s tipped to become one of the top midfielders to dominate Europe in future following his outstanding qualities on the field.
”The Ghanaian midfielder signed a contract in 2020 with the well-known Italian football club “Parma”. For two years, Ahmed played for the Slovenian Highest league clubs “Gorica” and “Koper”. the club added while announcing the player’s capture.
In the Slovenia’s strongest championship, the Ghanaian international scored one goal and made six assists in 61 caps.
