Ghanaian midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei has signed a new deal and will continue to wear the SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz jersey for years to come. The 27-year-old has extended his contract until June 30, 2028.

The Ghanaian midfielder joined the club from a free agent at the beginning of the current season, having previously played for Finnish first-division side HJK Helsinki. With his experience in the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, and 3. Liga, Sarpei has brought a high level of quality and professionalism to the team from day one.

Due to his experience at a higher level, expectations were correspondingly high from the outset – expectations that Hans Nunoo Sarpei impressively lived up to.

The midfielder quickly integrated into the team and rapidly developed into a regular starter and leader in defensive midfield. With his composure on the ball, his game intelligence, and his strategic vision, he lends stability and structure to the Baroque City team's play.

So far, Sarpei has made 20 competitive appearances for SG Barockstadt. His most recent goal was particularly important: in the away game against TSG Balingen in 2025, he scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 away victory, once again underlining his importance to the team.

"Hans was an absolute stroke of luck for us. His strength in tackles gives us a lot of stability in the number six position. The fact that he feels comfortable in Fulda and has made himself at home here helped convince him to extend his contract. In addition to his experience, we can also continue to develop and promote young talent with him."
