Ibrahim Sulemana has completed a season-long loan move from Atalanta to Bologna in Italy’s Serie A. The 22-year-old midfielder will stay with Bologna until June 2026, with an option to make the deal permanent.
The Ghanaian joins a list of his countrymen who have previously featured for the club, including Stephen Appiah, Kwadwo Asamoah, Godfred Donsah, and Afriyie Acquah.
Sulemana began his career in Italy with Hellas Verona’s youth side in the 2021/22 season before breaking into Serie A. He later played under Claudio Ranieri at Cagliari in 2023 and moved to Atalanta, where he scored two goals in ten league appearances last season.
He has also earned a call-up to coach Otto Addo’s Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali. Ghana will face Chad in N’Djamena on September 4 before returning to Accra to host Mali on September 8.
