Leonard Owusu says Fredrikstad FK still has ‘unfinished business’ after completing his return to the Norwegian club ahead of the new campaign, with the Ghanaian midfielder confident the side can achieve more this season.
The 28 year old has rejoined Fredrikstad after a successful spell last year when he featured prominently in midfield during a loan stint from Serbian giants FK Partizan.
His energetic displays and leadership quickly made him an important figure in the squad as the club pushed through a competitive campaign.
Owusu made 35 appearances across competitions and scored twice during that period, delivering several decisive moments that strengthened his bond with the club’s supporters.
Among the standout contributions were a late equaliser against HamKam and a derby winner away to Sarpsborg 08, performances that elevated him to fan favourite status.
Now back permanently in the red and white colours, the midfielder says his ambition is to help the team build on last season’s progress.
“It feels so right to be here. Ever since I arrived, I have been treated well and respected by everyone in this city, even though I was only on loan. Fredrikstad and I have unfinished business. I believe we can achieve a lot this year.”
Fredrikstad will hope Owusu’s return provides continuity and leadership as the club prepares for the upcoming season in the Eliteserien.
