Ghanaian midfielder Mark Osei Assinor delivered an exceptional performance for his club, FK Zeleziarne Podbrezova, as he netted a brace in their commanding home victory against MFK Ružomberok in the Slovakian Nike Liga on Saturday.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been on a remarkable scoring spree, with this brace taking his tally to four goals in the last four games. This impressive form helped Podbrezova secure a convincing 5-0 win over Ružomberok in their round 11 fixture.
Assinor wasted no time and opened the scoring in the 6th minute at the Zelpo Arena. He capitalized on a significant defensive error made by the opponents to find the back of the net.
Defender Marek Bartos doubled Podbrezova’s lead in the 19th minute, and shortly after, forward Roland Galcik added another goal.
The Ghanaian midfielder continued his brilliant performance, scoring his second goal of the match just before halftime, in the closing moments of the first half. Defender Peter Kovacik provided the setup for Assinor’s goal.
Substitute Marek Kuzma completed the impressive victory for the home side when he scored in the 64th minute, with an assist from Gambian teenager Mahmudu Bajo.
Mark Osei Assinor is having a fantastic season in the Slovakian top-flight, having already scored five goals and provided three assists in eight appearances.
