Three Ghanaian players featured in the opening round of UEFA Champions League matches this week, with Antoine Semenyo and Rahim Ibrahim making appearances for their respective clubs.
Antoine Semenyo played 62 minutes for Manchester City as the English champions secured a 2-0 victory over FC Porto on Tuesday.
The Ghana international was involved as City began their Champions League campaign with an important away win in Portugal.
On Wednesday, Rahim Ibrahim also featured for Slovan Bratislava, playing for an hour in their heavy 6-1 defeat to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Ibrahim was given the opportunity to compete against one of Europe’s top sides but could not prevent Slovan Bratislava from suffering a disappointing result.
Meanwhile, Kojo Oppong Peprah was an unused substitute when Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with AS Roma on Thursday.
The Ghanaian midfielder remained on the bench throughout the encounter and therefore had to wait for another opportunity to make his Champions League debut.
The performances mean Semenyo and Ibrahim have already registered playing minutes in the competition, while Oppong Peprah is still waiting to make his first appearance on Europe’s biggest club stage.
