Ghanaian players Maxwell Woledzi and Prince Osei Owusu have been recognised for their impressive performances after earning places in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week for matchday eight.
Both players played key roles in helping their clubs secure important victories over the weekend. Woledzi was outstanding in defence for Nashville SC, putting in a strong performance to help his side keep a clean sheet in their 2-0 win against Atlanta United.
On the attacking side, Owusu delivered an excellent display for CF Montréal, contributing to three goals in their dominant 4-1 victory over New York Red Bulls. His performance was widely praised, with only Lionel Messi of Inter Miami CF edging him out for the Player of the Week award.
The Team of the Week also features notable players such as Petar Musa of FC Dallas and Kristijan Kahlina of Charlotte FC, alongside several other standout performers across the league.
Meanwhile, another Ghanaian international, Joseph Paintsil, was also recognised for his efforts after being named among the substitutes for the week.
The inclusion of Woledzi and Owusu highlights the growing impact of Ghanaian players in MLS, as they continue to deliver strong performances for their respective clubs.
