Former Ghana international striker Benjamin Tetteh netted a brace as NK Maribor were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by NK Bravo in the Slovenian Prva Liga over the weekend.

The 26-year-old forward, who joined Maribor this summer to strengthen their attack, displayed his trademark strength and finishing in a match packed with drama.

Bravo took the lead in the 19th minute through midfielder Sandi Nuhanovic, and Maribor went into the break trailing. However, Ghanaian midfielder Eric Taylor, introduced after halftime, made an immediate impact by equalising just two minutes into the second half.

Tetteh then turned the game in Maribor’s favour. He first converted a neat pass from Orphe Mbina in the 53rd minute to make it 2-1, before doubling his tally only minutes later with a powerful finish that stretched the lead to 3-1.

But Bravo refused to give up. Venuste Baboula pulled one back from the penalty spot before substitute Rok Kopatin struck in stoppage time to rescue a dramatic point for the visitors.

Despite Maribor’s late collapse, Tetteh’s brace underlined his growing influence, with the Ghanaian striker now boasting three goals in his first five league appearances this season.
