Turkish top-tier team Fatih Karagümrük has shown a keen interest in securing the services of Black Stars striker Caleb Ekuban during the upcoming transfer window.
Despite being with the Italian Serie A side Genoa, the 29-year-old has struggled to secure a regular starting position at the Estadio Luigi Ferraris, and he has yet to find the back of the net in ten matches across all competitions this season.
There is a strong likelihood that the Italian-born forward could return to Turkey, with Karagümrük reportedly in talks with Ekuban’s representatives.
During his initial stint with Trabzonspor, Ekuban was a fan favorite, impressively scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists in various competitions before making the move to Genoa.
Anticipating positive negotiations, the Red and Blacks aim to formalize the deal during the January transfer window.
Caleb Ekuban made his debut for the Black Stars in 2019, scoring his first goal against Kenya in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers. Despite his early success, he has not received a national team call-up for over two years.
