Genesis Antwi, a talented 16-year-old from Ghana, has expressed his pride after securing a scholarship contract with the renowned English football club, Chelsea.
The agreement, which was finalized last week, solidifies Antwi’s position as a right-back in Chelsea’s Under-18 team.
Taking to Instagram, Antwi enthusiastically shared the news with his fans and followers, stating, “What a proud moment to sign a scholarship at @chelseafc.”
With his focus now directed towards making a lasting impression on Chelsea’s Under-18s coach, John Terry, Antwi aims to continue his progress within the club’s system.
Under the guidance of Ed Brand, the Chelsea U-18 team achieved remarkable success in the previous season. They secured an eighth-place finish in the league, reached the semi-finals of the prestigious FA Youth Cup, and emerged victorious in the Under-18 Premier League Cup by defeating Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Despite his young age, Antwi has already gained international experience by representing England at the Under-16 level. Additionally, he holds eligibility to represent both Ghana and Sweden at the international stage, showcasing his diverse background and potential.
