Scottish Championship team Ayr United F.C. has secured the services of 24-year-old Ghanaian-English attacker Francis Amartey on a one-year contract, with the option to extend for another year at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Amartey, who was born in London to Ghanaian parents, joins Ayr United on a free transfer after parting ways with Aldershot Town, an English National League (Fifth-tier) side, last season.
The signing of the former Birmingham City U21 youth prospect will provide a boost to manager Lee Bullen, who will rely on Amartey’s contributions in the upcoming league campaign.
Although he was born and raised in London, Amartey is still eligible to represent Ghana at the international level, as he has not yet been capped by the England national team.
