Highly-rated Ghanaian teenage forward Ransford Amoo has taken a major step in his young career after signing his first professional contract with Danish Superliga club Vejle Boldklub.
The 18-year-old attacker put pen to paper on a four-year deal on his birthday, completing a move from Ghanaian outfit True Life FC as he begins his journey in European football. Despite joining a Vejle side currently battling for survival in the Danish top flight, Amoo is expected to play an important role as the club pushes to secure its Superliga status.
Expressing his excitement after sealing the move, Amoo described the decision as a significant milestone in his career.
“I am really happy about my first professional contract, and that it is with Vejle Boldklub. I was faced with a big choice for my career, and there were several opportunities for me, but with the development plan and the sporting setup presented to me here, it was not a difficult decision,” he said.
The young forward revealed that his integration into the club has been smooth, giving him confidence ahead of the challenges ahead.
“During my time in Vejle, I have received a thorough introduction to the way the club works and how the coaches see me playing a role in the team,” Amoo added.
Vejle Boldklub’s Sporting Director, Mikkel Hemmersam, believes the Ghanaian teenager perfectly matches the club’s football philosophy and long-term vision.
“Ransford Amoo is a young offensive player who fits very well into the way we want to play football here at Vejle Boldklub. He has exciting one-on-one skills, can go both ways with both feet, and possesses the speed that makes him a threat behind defences, both with and without the ball,” Hemmersam noted.
With his pace, flair, and technical ability, Amoo will be hoping to quickly adapt to life in Denmark and make a meaningful impact as Vejle fight to turn their season around.
