Ghanaian winger David Atanga has completed a transfer to Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC on a two-year deal, with an option to extend for a further season.
The 27-year-old former Holstein Kiel loanee and KV Oostende player joins the Lavanttal-Arena club on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract with the option of a one-year extension.
Atanga, who previously played for RB Salzburg, SKN St. Pölten, and Admira Wacker in Austria, is looking forward to getting to know his new teammates and coaching staff, and hopes to help the team have a successful season.
“I’m glad that the transfer to WAC worked out and I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and the coaching staff,” Atanga said. “I will try to integrate myself into the team as quickly as possible in order to help the team have a successful season.”
Atanga has yet to earn his international cap with the Ghana national team, but has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 74 appearances for KV Oostende over the past three seasons.
