English-born Ghanaian teenager Samuel Amo-Ameyaw netted his first-ever Ligue 1 goal for Strasbourg in their commanding 4-2 victory over Olympique Lyonnais at the Stade de la Meinau.
The 18-year-old midfielder sealed the win in the 89th minute, scoring Strasbourg’s fourth goal in just his second appearance in the French top-flight.
After a goalless first half, the game came to life early in the second period when Andrey Santos opened the scoring for Strasbourg. Five minutes later, Dilane Bakwa doubled the lead, but Lyon quickly responded through Corentin Tolisso.
Strasbourg restored their two-goal cushion in the 73rd minute, thanks to Emmanuel Emegha, before Amo-Ameyaw struck in the 89th minute to put the game beyond Lyon’s reach.
Lyon pulled one back deep into stoppage time through a Georges Mikautadze penalty, but it was not enough to mount a comeback.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah started for Lyon but was substituted in the second half, making way for former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.
