Dutch-born Ghanaian youth goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro, put up a brilliant display for AZ Alkmaar as they claimed their first European trophy at any level after they turned on the style for a 5-0 victory against Hajduk Split in the UEFA Youth League final in Geneva.
Owusu-Oduro started the game in post together with his two compatriots Ernest Opoku and Jayden Addai who were all on target in their team’s victory in Geneva.
Addai opened the scoring with a penalty in the 45th minute after a foul by Hajduk’s defense on Poku.
The game remained evenly contested until the 70th minute when Poku scored two goals in six minutes to give AZ Alkmaar a commanding lead.
Mexx Meerdink added two more goals in the 79th and 87th minute to complete the rout.
Ernest Poku has scored eight goals in nine games in the UEFA Youth League, while Jayden Addai has scored four goals in eight matches.
