Facundo Buonanotte pulled one back for Brighton in the 43rd minute, but Enzo Fernández secured Chelsea’s victory with his second goal after the break. Joao Pedro managed to reduce the deficit for Brighton in stoppage time.
Benicio Baker-Boaitey, a Londoner who came through the ranks with West Ham and later joined Porto, joined Brighton in June 2022. While his Premier League debut did not go as planned, having debuted, he looks forward to more opportunities with Brighton.
