Ghanaian youngster Edmund Baidoo was on target for Sogndal in their 2-1 defeat to IK Start in the Norway 1st Division on Tuesday evening.
The match, held at the Sparebanken Sør Arena, saw Sogndal dominate possession, but IK Start proved more clinical in front of goal.
Before the clash, the head-to-head record favored Start with 8 wins, while Sogndal had 4 wins and 6 draws. Edmund Baidoo started the game and lasted 67 minutes. He scored the opening goal in the 26th minute after Oliver Hintsa won the ball high in the middle and passed it to Baidoo, who finished from outside the 16-meter area to give Sogndal a 1-0 lead.
However, IK Start fought back and equalized just before the half-time break. A deflected corner from Daniel Arrocha allowed Faites Makosso to tap in from long range, setting up Tom Strannegård to score the equalizer.
In the 8th minute of added time, Sander Sjökvist found an unmarked Eirik Schulze in the box, who confidently scored the winning goal to secure a 2-1 victory for IK Start.
Baidoo has now made ten appearances in the Norway 1st Division this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
