English-born forward of Ghanaian descent, Kirsten Fiifi Otchere, delivered a standout performance with two goals in Leicester City’s 5-2 away triumph over reigning champions Chelsea in the English U-18 South Premier League last Saturday.
The 16-year-old talent, who concluded the previous season with 15 goal involvements—10 goals and 5 assists—was instrumental in leading the Young Foxes’ comeback. His brace, combined with additional goals from Kevon Gray, Laolu Omobolaji, and Jeremy Monga, secured the decisive win.
Despite efforts from Chelsea’s Sol Gordon and Landon Emenalo, the Young Blues couldn’t counter Leicester’s momentum.
As the season progresses, Otchere is poised to seek more opportunities and goals with Leicester’s U-18 and U21 teams, with aspirations to advance to the senior squad. Leicester City will next face West Ham United on September 14.
Otchere, while representing England at youth levels, maintains strong ties to his Ghanaian heritage. Following last season, he organized a charity match in Adako-Jachie, Ashanti Region, demonstrating his commitment to his roots.
