Ghanaian talent Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has lauded Crystal Palace for given him the perfect avenue to excel.
Rak-Sakyi who won the Eagles young player of the year mentioned that he was sad when Chelsea released him at the age of 16 but he is now glad as a move to London rivals Crystal Palace paid off.
“I was at Chelsea from the age of eight to 16,” Rak-Sakyi tells the Official Crystal Palace Podcast. “I wasn’t able to get a scholar there.
“It was really tough. As a kid all you know is Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. To be let go and then to find something new is really tough.
“Palace took me in. They had a plan for me and that was really good for me and my family to hear, that they would look after me and develop.” He added.
The winger netted 18 goals in 25 league games for the Palace Under 23 side this ended season whereas he also made two senior team appearances.
