Ghana’s Issah Abass provided an assist in GD Chaves’ 4-2 triumph over Gil Vicente in the Portuguese top flight on Saturday afternoon.
Abass began the game on the bench at the Estádio Municipal Eng. Manuel Branco Teixeira and entered the match in the 73rd minute, replacing Leandro Sanca.
GD Chaves had the upper hand early in the game and generated numerous scoring opportunities, but it took some time to break the deadlock.
The opening goal arrived in the 19th minute when Felix Correia scored with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, finding the center of the net.
In the 29th minute, Héctor Hernández leveled the score for Chaves with a header from the left side of the six-yard box into the bottom right corner. Kelechi Nwakali provided the assist with a cross following a corner.
Maxime Dominguez netted Gil Vicente’s second goal with a right-footed shot in the 39th minute.
Sandro Cruz equalized for the home side, making it 2-2 in the 58th minute.
Héctor Hernández then scored the third and fourth goals to secure the victory for GD Chaves.
