Mustapha Ussif, Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, clinched the title of African Sports Minister of the Year at the prestigious Africa Sports and Tourism Awards.
Ussif’s pivotal role in orchestrating Ghana’s successful hosting of the 13th African Games played a decisive role in securing the accolade at the inaugural edition held in Abuja, Nigeria.
Although unable to attend the event, a delegation led by Ambassador Inusah Zimblim, Head of Consular and Welfare at the Ghana High Commission in Abuja, graciously accepted the award on his behalf.
Jamaludeen A. Abdullah, the Executive Assistant to the minister, delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech, acknowledging the collective efforts that contributed to Ghana’s sporting triumphs:
“This award is a testament to the collective efforts of all those who have contributed to Ghana’s sporting success. It is a recognition of Ghana’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of sports. On behalf of my boss, I will say we are deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award and remain steadfast in our dedication to advancing the sports agenda in Ghana and beyond.”
