Black Stars player Salis Abdul Samed wins French Ligue 1 best midfielder of the year award

Salis Abdul Samed, midfielder for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, has received the esteemed title of Get French Football News (GFFN) 2022/23 Ligue 1 Central Midfielder of the Year.

This recognition celebrates Salis’ exceptional performances and contributions to RC Lens’ remarkable season, which has secured European football for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

RC Lens currently finds themselves in a favorable position to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, sitting in second place with 78 points from 36 games. They are only six points behind the league leaders, Paris Saint-Germain.

Salis, who joined RC Lens last summer, wasted no time in leaving his mark on the French Ligue 1. His skill, vision, and impressive work rate have solidified his status as a vital component of the Lens squad.

He has started in 31 out of the 36 league games played thus far, showcasing his importance to the team’s success. Additionally, Salis has contributed with a goal during the season.

His outstanding performances also earned him a spot in Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s campaign.

Salis Abuld Samed’s remarkable season in Ligue 1 and his notable contributions to RC Lens have been duly recognized with the prestigious title of GFFN 2022/23 Ligue 1 Central Midfielder of the Year, further highlighting his talent and impact on the pitch.
