Ghanaian-born Italian right-back Mike Aidoo made a significant stride in his career by debuting for Inter Milan’s first team in a preseason match against Las Palmas over the weekend.
Aidoo, 19, was introduced by manager Simone Inzaghi in the 82nd minute, replacing centre-back Yann Aurel Bisseck, as Inter Milan secured a 3-0 victory over the Spanish side.
Reflecting on his debut, Aidoo expressed his excitement, saying, “It was a very unique moment, something you always dream about. Thanks to God, I had the opportunity to get on the field and share it with big players.”
He praised Inzaghi’s impact, noting, “Simone Inzaghi is a really good coach. He motivates you to do well, telling you to play naturally and stay focused. He congratulated us boys who came in and was happy for the team’s performance.”
Aidoo’s journey began with Chievo U17 before moving to Inter Milan’s U17 side, where he developed his skills. He has since made 34 appearances for Inter’s U19 team, contributing one goal and three assists.
As he continues to impress, Mike Aidoo will be aiming to solidify his place in the first team and build on this promising start as the new season approaches.
