Former Chelsea forward Gianfranco Zola, has advocated for a shift in Real Madrid’s focus from Kylian Mbappe to Nigeria prolific striker Victor Osimhen.
Despite Real Madrid’s sustained interest in Mbappe, Zola believes that Osimhen would be an ideal addition to the former European champions.
In his statement, Zola remarked, “There are many big names such as Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and even Osimhen, who I see as a perfect fit for Real Madrid. Mbappe is slightly different from Haaland, and I don’t think Manchester City will let Haaland leave easily”.
Expressing his perspective, Zola emphasized, “I might choose Mbappe, given his talent and personality, he is the right fit, but he is more of a winger than a striker, so in my opinion Haaland or Osimhen would be better as they are classic centre forwards. Every coach has his own vision.”
With Osimhen potentially departing Napoli next summer due to a failed contract extension, the Nigerian international has garnered interest from Chelsea. The London club, facing a lackluster start to the season, is reportedly keen on securing an experienced forward to strengthen its squad.
